Interviews are taking place in a full swing at TISS. With more and more candidates appearing for the interview, we communicated with few students from the course of ODCL. They have pursued their bachelors in Engineering.
As usual the session consisted of three panelists and started with an extempore. One of them was assigned with a topic “Challenges of learning and development in an organization during a pandemic” and other one’s topic was “Readiness of IT organizations during a pandemic”. Time duration of 1 minute had been given to them for preparing points and for speaking, minimum of 2 minutes and maximum of 3 minutes had been allotted.
As soon as they completed, interview started.
Following are questions asked to them during their interviews:
- Tell us one thing which is not mentioned in your DAF.
- Where do you want to see yourself after completing this course?
- What strengths have you noticed within yourself?
- Who funds TISS?
- What is Labor Dignity?
- From the books that we have provided you, have you read anything and if yes, what did you learn from it?
- What is your take on the shift of an organization from offline to work from home mode?
- Are you happy with your work?
They also asked certain situational questions to them. Some of them are: –
- Imagine there is a big organization and we have divided it into small sub-organizations, then what will be its pros and cons?
- Imagine you are visiting for a field project and a person of rural development is accompanying you. His communication skills is terrible as he doesn’t know Hindi or English properly, them how will you mange the situation?
- If one day, all the organizations decide not to have an OD agent, what would you do?
They also cross questioned them. For instance, as one of them talked about “Organizational Citizenship Behavior” in his answers, they asked him what is it.
They also enquired a bit about their under graduation course. According to them, personal questions were only related to the details mentioned in DAF.
About the panelists, they informed us that, they were quite cooperative and calm.
Altogether, their questions were totally dependent on their course and professions.
Their entire interviews were for about 25 to 30 minutes, each.

What is Course Specific Module?
It is one of our value proposition of TISS OPI & Extempore Course. We provide course specific content so that one gets in depth knowledge of the subject matter covering all the aspects of the course,it is done to enhance one’s knowledge in the subject which will be of immense help in Interview and Extempore.
What is DAF Class?
Detailed Application Form(DAF) is the form the aspirant submit to to TISS after they clear the cut-off which gives the complete brief of candidature and interest ,reason to join the course & work experience (if any). As it is the steering wheel of your interview.Classes will be conducted classes to help student write a good DAF.
How will the classes be conducted?
Classes will be conducted live on secret Youtube Streaming,Zoom or GMeet according to the schedule shared prior to the class. The classes will be recorded so that students can watch it later if they miss or they want to go through it again. Live classes for Interview Preparation and Extempore will be conducted.
What is Online DAF Evaluation?
Apart from conducting classes for DAF,evaluation of DAF draft will be done live on one-on-ne basis and required correction and improvements will be suggested. Once, the final draft is ready , we will re-evaluate and then give you heads-up for submission to TISS.
What is Extempore Session?
Extempore is a speech given at the spur of the moment without any prior preparation. Candidates will be given few minutes given to prepare for a topic. You will get 5 Extempore chances to make you accustomed with it with evaluation.
Note: Extempore has 20% weightage in final selection
