M.A. in Social Work (Counselling) – Interview Experience

A student from the course, MSW in Counselling, shared her TISS interview experience with us. She is pursuing her Bachelors from Institute for Excellence in Higher Education in English Literature with Psychology as her subsidiary. Here’s everything she mentioned about her interview.

Extempore topic: “Reservation system in India”

During her interview, following questions were asked from her: –

  1. Tell me about yourself.
  2. What challenges HR face? (as she has pursued diploma in DHRD – Directorate of Human Resource Management)
  3. What will you choose between literature and psychology? (her graduation background is English Literature with psychology as her subsidiary)
  4. What is the relationship between Literature and Psychology? (as she has literature and psychology as her graduation subjects)
  5. Does gender discrimination exist in Literature?
  6. Your strengths and weaknesses?
  7. As you had applied for three courses – Media and cultural studies, Applied Psychology and MSW Counselling, what could have you chosen if you had cleared all three of them?
  8. What is the difference between MSW Counselling and Applied Psychology?
  9. Your experience of working as a Counsellor in an NGO named “Seva Bharti”.
  10. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
  11. What qualities you possess that makes you apt for Social Work Counsellor?
  12. If you have any questions for us?

She said that the interview was good overall. Also, panelists were quite cooperative and good. They were friendly too. She had a jovial experience.
