On the second day of ongoing TISS interview, we interacted with a student from the course, M.A. in Social Work (Livelihoods and Social Entrepreneurship), to know her experience about her interview session. She did her graduation from media.
With three panelists for evaluation, her session started with the extempore round. Her topic was “Gender in Bollywood”. As usual,1 minute was assigned for collecting points and 2 to 3 minutes for speaking. Then she moved towards interview round.
She informed us that most of her questions were from her Biosketch. Other than that, these questions were asked from her: –
- Speak about your biosketch.
- Why do you want to join this course?
- What is your preference?
- Why have you shifted from mass media to this course?
- Tell us about some social initiatives that you have organized.
- Name few National Rural Livelihood Schemes.
- How will you promote Make in India.
About the panelists, she told us that they were very cooperative and calm. They even helped her out when she stuck in between by comforting and giving her certain hints. But she mentioned that questions were a bit tricky and interconnected. Those were mostly opinion based.
She also informed us that it takes almost two hours before the actual session starts.
Her interview session was for about 20 minutes including the extempore.

What is Course Specific Module?
It is one of our value proposition of TISS OPI & Extempore Course. We provide course specific content so that one gets in depth knowledge of the subject matter covering all the aspects of the course,it is done to enhance one’s knowledge in the subject which will be of immense help in Interview and Extempore.
What is DAF Class?
Detailed Application Form(DAF) is the form the aspirant submit to to TISS after they clear the cut-off which gives the complete brief of candidature and interest ,reason to join the course & work experience (if any). As it is the steering wheel of your interview.Classes will be conducted classes to help student write a good DAF.
How will the classes be conducted?
Classes will be conducted live on secret Youtube Streaming,Zoom or GMeet according to the schedule shared prior to the class. The classes will be recorded so that students can watch it later if they miss or they want to go through it again. Live classes for Interview Preparation and Extempore will be conducted.
What is Online DAF Evaluation?
Apart from conducting classes for DAF,evaluation of DAF draft will be done live on one-on-ne basis and required correction and improvements will be suggested. Once, the final draft is ready , we will re-evaluate and then give you heads-up for submission to TISS.
What is Extempore Session?
Extempore is a speech given at the spur of the moment without any prior preparation. Candidates will be given few minutes given to prepare for a topic. You will get 5 Extempore chances to make you accustomed with it with evaluation.
Note: Extempore has 20% weightage in final selection
